ABOUT PIMENTEL : 
Located just 14 km southwest of Chiclayo, Pimentel is a popular local beach resort, and well known for its seafood and surfing, with competitioin in December and January.  It is also known for its small-scale fishing industry, much of it still using the traditional caballitos del mar, flat torturo reed boats. Fishermen lave early in the morning, riding out on the waves much as if they were surfing, spend the day fishing and then return in the late afternoon to sell their catch on the beach. It's quite a sight to see.
